BMS General Secretary, Virjesh Upadhyay annouces to celebrate 22nd April as Solidarity Day in Support of Corona Warriors. He said that The world is passing through a huge crisis; we are losing thousands of human lives every day due to
the COVID-19 virus. India has shown a remarkable resistance, and it is because of our collective
courage and strength along with the government’s ability in decision making – first announcing a
countrywide lockdown up to 14th April 2020 and now extending it further to 3rd May 2020 - that the
spread of the virus has been largely contained.
In this fight against corona, Health Workers, Sanitation Workers, Police Personnel, Postal Employees, Bank Employees,
Railway Trackmen, and all other people engaged in maintaining Essential services have been our
heroes. It is only because of their dedication, devotion, determination towards the nation that others
are safe and enjoying basic amenities in houses.
As we all know that many of the Medical Personnel died treating patients, many of the Police
Personnel got injured in the line of duty, sanitary workers, and others providing essential services are
also facing many hardships.
Keeping these facts in mind Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh has decided to observe 22nd April 2020 as
