e-VP System: This system is an improvement over the traditional VP System. This service helps e-commerce by quickly making payment of the money collected on the article and providing information on the transactions to the customer. The data of the amount collected on the articles delivered is electronically transmitted to the office of booking and payment effected to customer within almost the next day.
World Net Express (WNX) Service: This is method of transmission of international mail is offered by India Post in collaboration with Deutsche Post World Net. The service is available in selected Post Offices. A maximum transit time of 4 days is assured Both documents and parcels can be sent. Boxes provided can be used for sending parcels.
Flat Rate Boxes: This is a value addition which ensures safe transmission of articles through usage of standardized packing. This Facility is available for both domestic and international mail. The rate prescribed is based on the weight specified for the article and is inclusive of postage. In case of boxes for international mail, customs declaration form is available with the box as well as the barcode. The sizes and the tarrif are in the following table.
